Burns Night on January 25th is celebrated the world over, an evening where Scotland leads the celebration of the life and legacy of one of the world’s most famous literary figures, Robert Burns on what was his birthday. Where a wee dram, a haggis, a piper and Auld Lang Syne feature in an unrivalled evening celebrating a poet. 5 years after his death, the first Burns supper was held and from there the world has held a celebratory supper on the 25th January.

Winter holidays in the Cairngorms are fun and refreshing! We spent Hogmanay in the Highlands this year and it was wonderful. We arrived to light snow on the lower ground and great powder in the mountains, with fresh mountain air to blow the Christmas cobwebs away.
Creating a boutique hotel is one of the most exciting projects that we have ever been involved in, especially with the added challenges of it being in the Scottish Highlands. 11 uniquely designed bedrooms, a bar, a restaurant, a private dining room, a drawing room and a library housed in a Victorian shooting lodge set in 10 acres of pastureland in the Cairngorm National Park.
As an amateur photographer the opportunity to go 'shooting' on a Scottish estate is grabbed with enthusiasm. On my second outing with two amazing people, we learnt more about the landscape, the wildlife and the history combined with photography, advice and fun.
Interior design of a luxury hotel is proving to be both exciting and challenging. The renovation is taking shape the difference in only 3 months is huge, where exposed walls and floors are now covered and the underfloor heating has been turned on for the first time.
